Cinco años después de su primera edición, la Universidad de Bogotá Jorge Tadeo Lozano se propuso reeditar y poner de nuevo a disposición del público La fotografía, un documento social. Esta edición incluye once textos de los que se publicaron en la primera edición, algunos de los cuales se han actualizado a las nuevas realidades y retos de la fotografía, en los cuales autoras y autores reflexionan sobre el papel de la fotografía en relación con la memoria, la historia, la documentación y la construcción de un relato social.
La violencia en Colombia según Fernando Botero: consideraciones historiográficas, estéticas y semióticas
Se organizó la exposición La violencia en Colombia según Fernando Botero entre el 5 y 27 de noviembre de 2009 en el Museo de Artes Visuales de la ujtl. La exposición estuvo acompañada de una actividad académica organizada por el Departamento de Humanidades, que consistió en un ciclo de conferencias titulado "Un acercamiento desde las ciencias sociales y la teoría del arte al conflicto". Las conferencias fueron presentadas por profesores de las maestrías en Semiótica y en Estética e Historia del Arte. Los artículos recogidos en este volumen son el fruto de esta actividad académica y buscan alimentar el debate acerca de la producción artística del maestro Fernando Botero. Las interpretaciones aquí consignadas provienen de tres campos de investigación distintos, pero sin embargo contiguos, como son la historia del arte, la estética y la semiótica. El presente volumen se estructura a partir de artículos que están directamente relacionados con resultados de las líneas de investigación Estética y Política, Historiografía del Arte Latinoamericano y Semiótica Visual del Departamento de Humanidades de la UJTL.
