ICMS 2023
The 2nd International Conference of Multidisciplinary Studies (ICMS) was held on July 12, 2023 in Semarang, Indonesia. Our theme was “Smart Technology and Creative Economy Transformation to Support Post-Pandemic Development”. We used a double-blind review to ensure the quality of papers. Reviewers were not allowed to know the identity of the authors. Contributions of the ICMS conference to academia and society are: 1. Building a network between universities in Asia, 2. Increase interest in research in the fields of Information Technology, Economics, Tourism, Law, Engineering, and Linguistics, 3. Building networks between researchers, academics, professionals, and postgraduate students, particularly in the fields of Technology, Economics, Tourism, Law, Engineering, and Languages, 4. A means of disseminating scientific ideas and research results to be documented in scientific publications.
MR. LONDON MS. LANGKAWI
Aidid Mukhlis - Berpelajaran tinggi dan mempunyai kerjaya yang bagus. Dari kecil sudah menetap di luar negara membuatkan jiwanya seakan hilang rasa cinta pada kampung halaman. Akhirnya kerana dipaksa, dia pulang juga tanpa rela. Nurul Liyana - Dia hanya gadis biasa. SPM pun setakat cukup makan. Memang dia dalam kategori bukan pelajar cerdik tapi jiwanya besar. Cintanya pada tanah air cukup menebal. Bila bertemu, mereka sentiasa berlaga angin. Seorang serius bukan main. Yang seorang lagi, nakalnya… Nauzubillah. "Macamlah bagus sangat Kota London dia tu," ejek Liyana penuh jengkel. "Memang bagus pun," jawab Aidid dengan nada yang menyakitkan hati. "Apa yang bagus sangat? Apa yang London ada, Malaysia tak ada? Cer cite....cer cite." Liyana melawan kata-kata Aidid. "Yang bagusnya, kat London tu tak ada mulut mak nenek macam kau!" Hmm....asyik bertekak sahaja Mr. London dan Ms. Langkawi ini. Kata orang, perbezaan akan mewujudkan keserasian. Tetapi adakah keserasian akan wujud dalam jiwa Aidid Mukhlis dan Nurul Liyana?
Epigenetic Drug Discovery
Epigenetics is one of the fastest moving fields in drug discovery, with almost every large pharmaceutical company, and a substantial number of biotechnology companies, targeting epigenetic processes to treat diseases ranging from cancer to Huntington’s disease and from inflammation to sickle cell anaemia. This book aims to provide an overview of the key topics adopted in current epigenetic drug discovery programmes with a focus on major developments and new technologies. Importantly, the book incorporates case studies and outlines the key challenges and techniques employed to overcome them. Acute Side Effects of Radiation Therapy
This book provides clear guidance on how to manage a wide range of side effects frequently encountered when treating patients with radiation therapy. For each potential side effect, incidence, mechanism, symptoms, and grading are carefully described. All aspects of management are addressed, drawing on the latest available evidence and highlighting key details of importance in clinical routine. The introduction of new radiation therapy techniques such as 3D conformal radiation therapy, intensity-modulated radiation therapy, and image-guided radiation therapy has reduced normal tissue doses and, accordingly, treatment complications. Nevertheless, a significant percentage of patients still experience acute side effects, in part because the threshold doses for these toxicities are typically lower than those for late effects. Acute toxicities may lead to interruption of treatment and be associated with an increase in late damage. A swift and effective response is therefore essential. This book will enable the reader to provide effective care for each side effect, thereby improving patient compliance with treatment and treatment outcomes.
