This unique book about Mazovia and Mazowieckie Voivodeship presents the complex problems and enormous development potential of the largest and most prosperous voivodeship in Poland, its civilisational achievements and economy, as well as natural and tourist merits. The authors also depict the complicated and colourful history of Mazovia, from the onset of Polish statehood to the present day. In doing so, they oppose stereotypes which reduce the significance of the region to Warsaw and its close environs.
