Treaty of Lisbon
The Treaty of Lisbon is the revised version of the European Treaties that has endured the longest. These Treaties are still, and will likely remain for the foreseeable future, the fundamental texts of the European Union - beacons of democracy, human rights, rule of law, peace, social welfare and sustainable development. The Treaty of Lisbon represented an extremely important achievement in European integration, and is a crucial instrument for the acknowledgement of the values, principles, institutions, policies and rules of the European Union.
