The cultural practices of hip-hop have been among people's favorite forms of popular culture for decades. Due to this popularity, rap, breaking, graffiti, beatboxing and other practices have entered the field of education. At the intersection of hip-hop and music education, scholars, artists, and educators cooperate in this volume to investigate topics such as representations of gangsta rap in school textbooks, the possibilities and limits of working with hip-hop in an intersectional critical music pedagogy context, and the reflection of hip-hop artists on their work in music education institutions. In addition, the contributors provide ideas for how research and theory can be transferred and applied to music educational practice.

Das Heft analysiert die diskursiven und politischen Strategien der gegen ‚Gender‘ und den Feminismus gerichteten Mobilisierungen im Kontext des Erstarkens von Rechtspopulismus und Rechtsextremismus und fragt nach emanzipatorischen Gegenstrategien. Es bietet einen Überblick über dieses Phänomen, das in der Forschung teils als Antifeminismus, teils als Anti-‚Genderismus‘ bezeichnet wird. Focusing on the Federal Republic of Germany, Christopher Ewing charts both the entrenchment of racisms within white, queer scenes and the formation of new, antiracist movements that contested overlapping marginalizations. Afrodiasporic Identities in Germany
Aminata Camara, Maya K., Lafia T., Oxana Chi and Layla Zami are middle-class, highly educated women in Germany and come from families of mixed African European heritages. This ethnographic study traces the coming of age as person of African descent in Germany born in the 1980s with a focus on the city of Frankfurt. Silvia Wojczewski follows the paths of five women and shows how the practice of travelling is used as a way to connect to transnational families and to an Afrodiasporic heritage. Zooming in on five lives, she reveals the ways in which class, diaspora and kinship relations influence how the women understand themselves and their position in the world.

While care is receiving increasing attention in educational science, there is a lack of gender-theoretical foundations. The volume offers analyses of the connection between care and pedagogy from the perspective of educational gender studies, therefore contributing to closing this research gap.

In der Corona-Pandemie werden viele Themen zum Gegenstand öffentlicher Debatten, welche die Erziehungswissenschaft im Allgemeinen und die erziehungswissenschaftliche Frauen- und Geschlechterforschung im Besonderen seit Langem beschäftigen: Reproduktion sozialer Ungleichheit in Bildungskontexten, ungleiche Verteilung privater Sorge-, Erziehungs- und Betreuungsarbeit, Marginalisierung nicht-heteronormativer Lebensformen u.v.m. Das Ringen um eine Rückkehr zur „Normalität“ ist allgegenwärtig. Der Band zeigt aus geschlechtertheoretischer und erziehungswissenschaftlicher Sicht, dass diese Normalität zu den Bedingungen der Krise selbst gehört und eine Rückkehr zu einer solchen Normalität bestehende Herrschaftsverhältnisse fortsetzt.
