The Mother
The novel is set in Aar, a poor and remote Sardinian village. The story takes place in less than three days and concerns the struggle between the mother and her only son, Paul, the local priest. The mother, Maria Maddalena, grew up in this small parish and she sees this as the rest of their lives: to be together and that he becomes the best priest Aar ever had. One night she discovers that Paul is involved with a woman, Agnes, and suddenly realizes that everything she wished for is now in peril. The love of the priest for the woman is sheer instinctive passion, pure and undefiled by sentiment. As such it is worthy of respect, for in other books on this theme the instinct is swamped and extinguished in sentiment. Gramàtica de la llengua catalana : bibliografia
La «Introducció» de la Gramàtica de la llengua catalana, publicada el 2016, preveia l’elaboració d’una relació bibliogràfica que fes la funció de llista de referències bibliogràfiques de l’obra. No havent establert prèviament un registre sistemàtic d’aquestes referències, la Secció Filològica —mitjançant la Comissió de Gramàtica i l’Oficina de Gramàtica— ha confeccionat, com a alternativa, una llista de fonts bibliogràfiques dedicades a l’estudi d’aspectes gramaticals de la llengua catalana. Tot i l’extensió, que ultrapassa el que seria esperable en una simple llista de referències d’una obra d’aquestes característiques, no pretén pas ser una relació exhaustiva de la producció bibliogràfica sobre la gramàtica de la llengua catalana publicada d’ençà de l’establiment de la normativa gramatical ni tampoc un banc de dades bibliogràfic. En bona mesura, aquest repertori bibliogràfic permet contextualitzar documentalment la Gramàtica de la llengua catalana, encara que també pot servir com a eina de referència general a tothom qui estigui interessat en l’estudi de la gramàtica del català.

The published proceedings, collected in seven volumes, contain the contributions accepted for publication of the 25th conference of the Société de Linguistique Romane (Innsbruck 2007). The range of themes includes various areas of diachronous and synchronous Romance linguistics. Particular thought has been given to Romanian und several small Romance languages. The articles written in the Romance languages (French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian) provide a panorama of current Romance linguistics, its present fields of interest and research orientation as well as the latest bibliographical information.
