Epilepsy is a common and chronic neurological disease that is characterized by recurrent seizures which impose a major burden on patients, their caregivers, and society. Worldwide more than 39 million people are affected by epilepsy. The aim of this Research Topic was to provide evidence that personalized translational epilepsy research will benefit patients through targeted experimental, clinical and network research.

Abstract: Background This study measured sleep quality among caregivers of patients with Dravet syndrome (DS) and assessed the impacts of mental health problems and caregiver burden on sleep quality. Methods This multicenter, cross-sectional study of patients with DS and their caregivers throughout Germany consisted of a questionnaire and a prospective 4-week diary querying disease characteristics, demographic data, living conditions, nocturnal supervision, and caregivers' work situations. Easy Language – Plain Language – Easy Language Plus
This book shows how accessible communication, and especially easy-to-understand languages, should be designed in order to become instruments of inclusion. It examines two well-established easy-to-understand varieties: Easy Language and Plain Language, and shows that they have complementary profiles with respect to four central qualities: comprehensibility, perceptibility, acceptability and stigmatisation potential. The book introduces Easy and Plain Language and provides an outline of their linguistic, sociological and legal profiles: What is the current legal framework of Easy and Plain Language? What do the texts look like? Who are the users? Which other groups are involved in the production and use of Easy and Plain Language offers? Which qualities are a hazard to acceptability and, thus, enhance their stigmatisation potential? The book also proposes another easy-to-understand variety: Easy Language Plus. This variety balances the four qualities and is modelled in the present book.
Die Zeit heilt hoffentlich alle Wunden
Willi und ich führten eine glückliche Ehe, zumindest dachte ich das bis zu jenem verhängnisvollen Tag im August 2022. Wir lernten uns im Sommer 1981 in Heidelberg Wieblingen kennen.
