Nueva técnica para medir la pobreza
La pobreza es un fenómeno multidimensional, y como tal resulta difícil su medición. A través de la lógica difusa se logra el diseño y utilización de umbrales, en lugar de lineas, para la identificación de los hogares pobres de los distintos sectores de la ciudad de Mérida, Venezuela. Para ello se consideran cada una de las variables relacionadas con el estudio de la pobreza en el país: alimentación, servicios básicos, vestido y calzado, educación, vivienda, salud, recreación, transporte y servicios personales. Los instrumentos para el manejo de información difusa e incierta permiten tomar en cuenta el conocimiento subjetivo sobre un problema real. El nuevo instrumento permite identificar los aspectos más destacados de la pobreza en los hogares para contribuir a la mejor toma de decisiones en la política económica.
