Esta obra colectiva recopila textos sobre temas comunes a la teoría, la gestión y el derecho ambiental, elaborados por académicos allegados a la Escuela de Derecho Ambiental de la Universidad del Rosario, y nace del interés de rendir homenaje a la profesora Gloria Amparo Rodríguez, quien con apoyo, generosidad y grandeza ha contribuido a la construcción del derecho ambiental en Colombia y Latinoamérica. Al mismo tiempo, busca dar cuenta de los aportes de esta Escuela de Derecho Ambiental y propiciar un diálogo en temas relacionados con la protección del ambiente como interés jurídico superior. La pertinencia de este libro se justifica en la trayectoria de Gloria Amparo Rodríguez, marcada por sus aportes significativos al estudio del derecho ambiental y el derecho de los pueblos indígenas; pero también por un gran corazón que, acompañado de una generosidad inconmensurable, deja hoy una huella imborrable en todos sus hijos académicos. Además, su rigor académico se ve reflejado en la recepción que han tenido los aportes de todos quienes nos hemos forjado en su Escuela de Derecho Ambiental.

Beautiful Bodies
This book explores the role of material culture in the formation of corporeal aesthetics and beauty ideals in different past societies and thus contributes to the cultural relativization of bodily aesthetics and related gender norms. The volume does not explore beauty for the sake of beauty, but extensively explores how it serves to form and keep gender norms in place. The concept of beauty has been a topic of interest for some time, yet it is only in recent times that archaeologists have begun to approach beauty as a culturally contingent and socially constructed phenomenon. Although archaeologists and ancient historians extensively dealt with gender, they dealt less with it in relation to beauty. The contributions in this volume deal with different intersections of gender and corporeal aesthetics by turning to rich archaeological, textual and iconographic data from ancient Sumer, Aegean Bronze Age, ancient Egypt, ancient Athens, Roman provinces, the Viking world and the Qajar Iran. Beauty thus moves away from a curiosity and surface of the body to an analytic concept for a better understanding of past and present societies.

Biokerosene
This book provides a detailed overview of aspects related to the overall provision chain for biokerosene as part of the global civil aviation business. Starting with a review of the current market situation for aviation fuels and airplanes and their demands, it then presents in-depth descriptions of classical and especially new types of non-edible biomass feedstock suitable for biokerosene provision. Subsequent chapters discuss those fuel provision processes that are already available and those still under development based on various biomass feedstock materials, and present e.g. an overview of the current state of the art in the production of a liquid biomass-based fuel fulfilling the specifications for kerosene. Further, given the growing interest of the aviation industry and airlines in biofuels for aviation, the experiences of an air-carrier are presented. In closing, the book provides a market outlook for biokerosene.
