La desigualdad salarial ha crecido desde mediados de los anos 80, existe una discusion no concluida sobre los factores que estan detras. En Mexico la brecha salarial ha tenido efectos diferenciados por regiones, una de las explicaciones es el cambio tecnologico, ya que en los ultimos tiempos se ha basado en las habilidades de los trabajadores, esto ha transformado las calificaciones laborales favoreciendo a la categoria de los mas calificados produciendo un cambio tecnologico sesgado. La hipotesis a probar en esta investigacion predice que en Mexico el trabajo no calificado es sustituido por el calificado ante el reciente cambio tecnologico basado en la informatica y en las tecnologias de la informacion, provocando diferencias salariales entre los trabajadores dependiendo de su localizacion geografica. El objetivo central de esta publicacion es examinar la estructura y salarios de los trabajadores, asi como medir la desigualdad salarial y la sustitucion de la mano de obra por tipo de calificacion ante el cambio tecnologico en Mexico y sus regiones. Para cumplir con dicho objetivo se analizaron a los asalariados de 16 a 65 anos de edad en dos tipos de clasificaciones laborales."
