This volume consists of expanded and updated versions of papers presented at the Seventh Ontario Symposium on Personality and Social Psychology. The series is designed to bring together scholars from across North America who work in the same substantive area, with the goals of identifying common concerns and integrating research findings. The topic of this symposium was the psychology of prejudice and the presentations covered a wide variety of issues. The papers present state-of-the-art research programs addressing prejudice from the point of view of both the bigoted person as well as the victim of bigotry. The chapter authors confront this issue from two major -- and previously separate --...

′This book will provide a very valuable resource for developing teachers and their University tutors. There is great breadth and depth in reflections upon different aspects of researching school based practice and the reader is guided carefully through the challenging processes of devising enquiries, collecting evidence, analysing data and writing up research. The book can be used on different levels - from quick reference to thorough analysis on research methodology. The examples drawn from the work of new researchers on M level PGCEs and MA programmes provide excellent models for reflection′ - Simon Thompson, Director of Initial Teacher Education at the University of Sussex The new M-l...
In this rich, eye-opening, and uplifting digital anthology, dozens of esteemed writers, poets, and artists from more than thirty countries send literary dispatches from life during the pandemic. Net proceeds benefit booksellers in need. As our world is transformed by the coronavirus pandemic, writers offer a powerful antidote to the fearful confines of isolation: a window onto lives and corners of the world beyond our own. In Mauritius, a journalist contends with denialism and mourns the last days of summer, lost to the lockdown. In Paris, a writer struggles to protect his young son from fear. In Chile, protesters who prevailed against tear gas and rubber bullets are now halted by a virus. I...
The series emerged from the study Towards a European Civil Society, on which 40 political scientists, sociologists, historians, and other scholars in 10 countries worked for two and a half years. This first volume looks at the debates about civil society over the past two decades in East Central Europe, Latin America, East Asia, and finally in Europe and globally, as a counter to unjustified state domination and neo-liberal marketization.
