Information and Management Engineering

This six-volume-set (CCIS 231, 232, 233, 234, 235, 236) constitutes the refereed proceedings of the International Conference on Computing, Information and Control, ICCIC 2011, held in Wuhan, China, in September 2011. The papers are organized in two volumes on Innovative Computing and Information (CCIS 231 and 232), two volumes on Computing and Intelligent Systems (CCIS 233 and 234), and in two volumes on Information and Management Engineering (CCIS 235 and 236).

Tianming Atlas

The hero is short of breath, and his son is immersed in love. Zhang Zhiang and Bing Feng embrace each other tightly and blend with each other, but this is actually the ice phoenix suppressing the boiling soul in the body for Zhang Zhiang, but the communication between doctors and patients is more romantic.

Quasi-Stationary Phenomena in Nonlinearly Perturbed Stochastic Systems

The book is devoted to studies of quasi-stationary phenomena in nonlinearly perturbed stochastic systems. New methods of asymptotic analysis for nonlinearly perturbed stochastic processes based on new types of asymptotic expansions for perturbed renewal equation and recurrence algorithms for construction of asymptotic expansions for Markov type processes with absorption are presented. Asymptotic expansions are given in mixed ergodic (for processes) and large deviation theorems (for absorption times) for nonlinearly perturbed regenerative processes, semi-Markov processes, and Markov chains. Applications to analysis of quasi-stationary phenomena in nonlinearly perturbed queueing systems, population dynamics and epidemic models, and for risk processes are presented. The book also contains an extended bibliography of works in the area. It is an essential reference for theoretical and applied researchers in the field of stochastic processes and their applications and may be also useful for doctoral and advanced undergraduate students.

Bagua Swimming Body Palms

Bagua Swimming Body Palms is the second book written by Wang Shujin, one of the world’s foremost exponents of Chinese internal martial arts and a renowned expert of Bagua Zhang. This volume continues the process of bringing Master Wang’s important art to Western readers. More intricate than the Linked Palms form, Swimming Body Palms helps practitioners achieve fluent body mechanics and the ability to connect and flow from one movement to the next with power. Master Wang, who taught Swimming Palms to only a few advanced students, described it as “swim-walking,” or swimming around the body. Bagua Swimming Body Palms offers a thorough grounding in the basics of Bagua principles and prac...

Time Crystal

What Is Time Crystal In condensed matter physics, a time crystal is a quantum system of particles whose lowest-energy state is one in which the particles are in repetitive motion. The system cannot lose energy to the environment and come to rest because it is already in its quantum ground state. Because of this the motion of the particles does not really represent kinetic energy like other motion, it has "motion without energy". Time crystals were first proposed theoretically by Frank Wilczek in 2012 as a time-based analogue to common crystals whereas the atoms in crystals are arranged periodically in space, the atoms in a time crystal are arranged periodically in both space and time. Severa...

"One of the most exciting recent developments in the study of Chinese literature has been the rediscovery of an extremely rich and diverse tradition of women’s writing of the imperial period (221 B.C.E.–1911 C.E.). Many of these writings are of considerable literary quality. Others provide us with moving insights into the lives and feelings of a surprisingly diverse group of women living in Confucian China, a society that perhaps more than any other is known for its patriarchal tradition. Because of the burgeoning interest in the study of both premodern and modern women in China, several scholarly books, articles, and even anthologies of women’s poetry have been published in the last two decades. This anthology differs from previous works by offering a glimpse of women’s writings not only in poetry but in other genres as well, including essays and letters, drama, religious writing, and narrative fiction. The authors have presented the selections within their respective biographical and historical contexts. This comprehensive approach helps to clarify traditional Chinese ideas on the nature and function of literature as well as on the role of the woman writer."
