Devotional Music in the Iberian World, 1450-1800
From the fifteenth century to the beginning of the nineteenth century, devotional music played a fundamental role in the Iberian world. Songs in the vernacular, usually referred to by the generic name of 'villancico', but including forms as varied as madrigals, ensaladas, tonos, cantatas or even oratorios, were regularly performed at many religious feasts in major churches, royal and private chapels, convents and in monasteries. Erasme et l''Espagne
Le grand Marcel Bataillon projetait à la fin de sa vie une seconde édition de son oeuvre principale, Erasme et l'Espagne, que la Librairie Droz a publiée en 1937 et qui était épuisée depuis si longtemps. Pour ce faire, il avait soigneusement revu son texte et ajouté à l'annotation originale de nombreuses notes de mise à jour. A sa mort, ses héritiers, puis l'Administrateur du Collège de France, confièrent à Daniel Devoto le soin d'ordonner le manuscrit et de le préparer pour l'impression. L'ouvrage comporte trois volumes : le premier reproduisant Erasme et l'Espagne (texte de 1937), sans la bibliographie et avec des astérisques renvoyant aux Notes supplémentaires. Le second, contenant les Préfaces, les Notes supplémentaires, la Bibliographe, l'index. Le troisième contenant des articles et des études de Marcel Bataillon sur Erasme postérieurs à 1937, ainsi qu'une Bibliographie générale des écrits de M. Bataillon, établie par Ch. Amiel.
High Resolution Archaeology and Neanderthal Behavior
The aim of this book is to provide a new insight on Neanderthal behaviour using the data recovered in level J of Romaní rockshelter (north-eastern Spain). Due to the sedimentary dynamics that formed the Romaní deposit, the occupation layers are characterized by a high temporal resolution, which makes it easier to interprete the archaeological data in behavioural terms. In addition, the different analytical domains (geoarchaeology, lithic technology, zooarchaeology, taphonomy, anthracology, palaeontology) are addressed from a spatial perspective that is basic to understand human behaviour, but also to evaluate the behavioural inferences in the framework of the archaeological formation processes.
