The INSIGNIA study was a proposal submitted to an European Commission call on “Environmental monitoring of pesticides use through honey bees”. The aim of the study was to develop a best practice protocol for Apicultural citizen science and to conduct “A pilot study on the best practices for a European wide monitoring program with honey bee colonies in an Apicultural citizen science (CS) setting to study pesticide use and exposure of honey bees and investigation of pollen sources”.
