En este estudio se pone de manifiesto lo que la publicación del arte ha supuesto para la historiografía lingüística española. Tras el análisis de esta gramática se ha podido comprobar hasta qué punto el escolapio masivo se apartó de la tradición grecolatina en la descripción de los hechos lingüísticos y gramaticales tomando como referencia la gramática general francesa. Se llega a la conclusión de que Benito de San Pedro no siempre consigue los objetivos propuestos ya que en su tratado se evidencia la coexistencia de dos metodologías de acceso a la descripción lingüística: normativismo y racionalismo.
History of Linguistics in Spain/Historia de la Lingüística en España
The contributions in this volume, a sequel to the volume published in 1986 (SiHoLS 34), treat many aspects of the history of the language sciences in Spain and in Hibero-America, from the Renaissance and ‘Siglo de Oro’ to the 20th century. Most papers were published in the journal Historiographia Linguistica; they were complemented with a few invited papers.
