A Kingdom where nothing is what it seems. Where peace was won based on fear and suffering. A place where harmony is nothing more than a façade to hide those who really suffer. When the masks begin to fall, the truth is finally revealed. An enormous hatred between two sisters, born from a relationship full of love. A place of treachery and torture proves to be the only place where a Princess might find out what love is, what it's like to be part of a family. Between strangers is that she finds within herself the strength to do what is right, to take the crown from that one day she loved so much, but that punished her beyond what any person deserves.
This volume aims to stimulate discussions on research involving the use of data and digital images as an understanding approach for analysis and visualization of phenomena and experiments. The emphasis is put not only on graphically representing data as a way of increasing its visual analysis, but also on the imaging systems which contribute greatly to the comprehension of real cases. Scientific Visualization and Imaging Systems encompass multidisciplinary areas, with applications in many knowledge fields such as Engineering, Medicine, Material Science, Physics, Geology, Geographic Information Systems, among others. This book is a selection of 13 revised and extended research papers presented in the International Conference on Advanced Computational Engineering and Experimenting -ACE-X conferences 2010 (Paris), 2011 (Algarve), 2012 (Istanbul) and 2013 (Madrid). The examples were particularly chosen from materials research, medical applications, general concepts applied in simulations and image analysis and other interesting related problems.
This volume presents several multidisciplinary approaches to the visual representation of data acquired from experiments. As an expansion of these approaches, it is also possible to include data examination generated by mathematical-physical modeling. Imaging Systems encompass any subject related to digital images, from fundamental requirements for a correct image acquisition to computational algorithms that make it possible to obtain relevant information for image analysis. In this context, the book presents selected contributions of a special session at the Conference on Advanced Computational Engineering and Experimenting (ACE-X) 2016.
This book presents theoretical and practical aspects of the interaction between low and high level image processing. Multiresolution analysis owes its popularity mostly to wavelets and is widely used in a variety of applications. Low level image processing is important for the performance of many high level applications. The book includes examples from different research fields, i.e. video surveillance; biomedical applications (EMG and X-ray); improved communication, namely teleoperation, telemedicine, animation, augmented/virtual reality and robot vision; monitoring of the condition of ship systems and image quality control.
How did the Olympics evolve into a multi-national phenomenon? How can the Olympics help us to understand the relationship between sport and society? What will be the impact and legacy of the Olympics after Tokyo in 2020? Understanding the Olympics answers all these questions by exploring the social, cultural, political, historical, and economic context of the Games. This thoroughly revised and updated edition discusses recent attempts at future proofing by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in the face of growing global anti-Olympic activism, the changing geo-political context within which the Olympics take place, and the Olympic histories of the next three cities to host the Games â€...
