Seal Abundance and Distribution
Grey seal abundance is largely increasing across the assessed area. Within Arctic Waters, both Icelandic grey seals and harbour seals are declining. Harbour seals abundance trends are mixed within the Greater North Sea. Southern Celtic Seas data were limited, but trends are generally increasing. Distribution appears generally stable for both species.
Social Spending for Inclusive Growth in the Middle East and Central Asia
This paper examines the role of social spending in improving socioeconomic outcomes in the Middle East and Central Asia. In particular, it addresses the following questions: (1) how large is social spending across the region? (2) how do countries in the region fare on socioeconomic outcomes? (3) how important is social spending as a determinant of these outcomes? and (4) how efficient is social spending in the region?

انعقدت الدورة الأولى للجنة الفرعية المختصة بإدارة مصايد الأسماك (اللجنة الفرعية) التابعة للجنة مصايد الأسماك في منظمة الأغذية والزراعة (المنظمة) بصورة افتراضية في الفترة الممتدة من 15 إلى 18 يناير/كانون الثاني 2024. [Author] وقد حضرها 95 عضوًا من الأعضاء في لجنة مصايد الأسماك بالإضافة إلى منظمة عضو واحدة، وثلاث وكالات متخصصة للأمم المتحدة، ومراقبون من 14 من سائر الدول الأعضاء في المنظمة و45 من المراقبين من المنظمات الدولية الحكوميـــة والدولية غير الحكومية.
