Emotion Regulation in Neurodevelopmental Disorders: Current Understanding and Treatments
Emotion regulation allows people to influence and modify the intensity, duration and types of emotions experienced, and how these emotions are expressed. The capacity to regulate emotions increases and becomes more sophisticated throughout child development due to the maturation of prefrontal brain regions involved in executive functioning. Emotion regulation is a transdiagnostic process that plays a pivotal role in the development and maintenance of internalizing and externalizing symptoms such as anxiety, depression or problematic behaviors. Emotion dysregulation is a prominent feature of neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Furthermore, emotion dysregulation has been suggested to play a vital role in less commonly diagnosed neurogenetic disorders such as Phelan-McDermid Syndrome, germline heterozygous PTEN mutations and 22q11.2 deletion syndrome. Fortunately, emotion regulation processes are amenable to treatment in various clinical and non-clinical populations.

Affective Sciences through the Chemical Senses
In people's minds, smells, flavors and affective phenomena are perceived as closely linked. But is it genuinely the case? The scientific study of this question is a rapidly expanding field, both in healthy and in clinical populations. Although still under-studied in comparison to other sensory modalities, chemical senses have proven to bring unique knowledge in the understanding of affective phenomena. In this context, this Research Topic is aimed to offer a snapshot of the present knowledge and questions raised in this field. Topics include, but are not limited to: affects elicited by odors and/or flavors in different individuals, contexts or cultures; emotional potency of odors in guiding human behavior and cognition (e.g. attention, memory formation, decisions and choices, withdrawal and approach behavior); affects communicated by body odors; affect regulation disorders and chemosensory perception. Studies on the biological underpinnings of these effects are also included.

San Francisco Probate, 1906-1942: Surnames starting with L-Z
This is the second of two volumes that provide, for the first time in print, an index to the 108,898 names in the registers of San Francisco probate actions from 1906 to 1942. The first volume covers surnames beginning with A-K, and the second volume contains surnames starting with L-Z. Information was extracted from 179 registers of probate actions, each containing 500 pages. Included are names, aliases and minors' names representing over 85,500 probates and guardianship proceedings.

Les adultes avec une déficience intellectuelle (DI) manifestent, quand on les questionne, une grande envie d’acquérir de nouvelles connaissances. C’est ce que constatent des chercheurs de l’Université de Fribourg et de la Haute école de travail social et de la santé-EESP de Lausanne. Selon leur étude menée sur trois ans auprès de soixante participants, 88% des personnes interrogées estiment qu’elles peuvent encore apprendre à l’âge adulte. Elles ne sont que 3% à exprimer un avis clairement négatif et 9% un avis fluctuant. [Ed.]
