Este livro é resultado da convergência de dois processos complementares. Por um lado, reúne os textos apresentados na quarta edição do Simpósio de Pós-Graduação em Relações Internacionais, evento acadêmico bienal promovido pelo Programa Interinstitucional (Unesp/Unicamp/PUC/SP) “San Tiago Dantas”. Por outro, congrega os trabalhos desenvolvidos a partir do Projeto Internacional de Extensão Universitária “Observatório de Política Exterior”, que envolve acadêmicos brasileiros, argentinos e uruguaios. Assim, ambos os processos representam 10 anos de esforços em estudar, compartilhar e informar sobre a Política Externa, especialmente a Política Exterior Brasileira.

Este estudo pretende apresentar e analisar, de forma crítica e didática, os principais temas da agenda de segurança internacional contemporânea, abrangendo tanto as questões tradicionais quanto aquelas que foram inseridas recentemente na agenda. De forma geral, pretendemos dotar as análises sobre segurança internacional de leituras e discussões localizadas desde o Brasil e o Sul Global, ponderando criticamente agendas de pesquisa e programas de atuação provenientes do Norte Global. Transformation of Political Community

Children's Geographies
Children's Geographies is an overview of a rapidly expanding area of cutting edge research. Drawing on original research and extensive case studies in Europe, North and South America, Africa and Asia, the book analyses children's experiences of playing, living and learning. The diverse case studies range from an historical analysis of gender relationss in nineteenth century North American playgrounds through to children's experiences of after school care in contemporary Britain, to street cultures amongst homeless children in Indonesia at the end of the twentieth century. Threaded through this empirical diversity, is a common engagement with current debates about the nature of childhood. The individual chapters draw on contemporary sociological understandings of children's competence as social actors.
