Racial, ethnic, linguistic, and cultural diversity has become of global importance in places where many never would have imagined. Increasing diversity in the U.S., Europe, Africa, New Zealand, and Asia strongly suggests that a homogeneity-based focus is rapidly becoming an historical artifact. Therefore, culturally responsive evaluation (CRE) should no longer be viewed as a luxury or an option in our work as evaluators. ''Intensive Response is a new approach being developed by Oranga Tamariki with Māori and Pacific organisations and the wider community sector to better support tamariki to be safe at home with their whānau/family. Intensive Response addresses a need to "improve the support to whānau who are at risk of having their tamariki taken into care." The desire for the programme is that with better support, "more tamariki and whānau can stay together and thrive." Intensive Response is connected to a wider change programme within Oranga Tamariki and complements and furthers the organisation's strategic goals''--Page 7.
