Inquisición, regalismo y reformismo borbónico
Estructurada en dos partes, la primera es un estudio institucional y burocrático del tribunal de distrito de Logroño, centrado en el análisis de su organización interna; en la segunda se establece la proyección social y política que obtuvo el tribunal en su entorno en el periodo final de su funcionamiento. Todo ello para responder a un doble objetivo: por un lado aportar nuevos datos a la historiografía inquisitorial del siglo XVIII y, por otra, revisar los tópicos en los que ha estado sumida desde el siglo XIX, centrándonos en el periodo de 1746 a 1808 durante el cual se produjo el cambio de ideas que la Ilustración y el reformismo borbónico propiciaron y que acarreó la abolición de la Inquisición.
