Transnationalism and Urbanism
The formation of transnational urban spaces is a relevant and challenging field of interdisciplinary research, which deserves much more debate in order to deepen our understanding of generating and restructuring urban spaces under conditions of contemporary globalisation processes. This edited collection reflects current studies on the relation of transnationalism and urbanism. Scholars from disciplines including Geography, Ethnography and Urban Planning discuss theoretical approaches, methodology and case studies on processes of the production of urban spaces through global economic value chains, socio-cultural practices, and political governance strategies. Cities are appropriate sites for an examination of the spatial dimension of transnationality because this is where global processes are concentrated, localized, transformed and materialize. In this context, urban space is not merely to be regarded as a setting for transnational practices, but as a constituent force of transnationalism in all its manifestations.
Challenges of Human Rights in Latin America
Latin America offers a democratic and constitutional process, with the goals to respect fundamental human rights and control the excess of power. Nevertheless, the weaknesses of the rule of law’s institutions does not guarantee for all citizens the protection of old and new rights. In this sense, the Inter-American Fundamental Rights Conference organized by the Inter-American Network on Fundamental Rights and Democracy (RED–IDD) is an annual meeting of professors and researchers from the different universities of Latin America, addressing topics of particular importance regarding the possibilities and challenges of the consolidation of the constitutional state in the region. Quadrature RC−Oscillators
This book presents a tutorial review of van der Pol model, a universal oscillator model for the analysis of modern RC−oscillators in weak and strong nonlinear regimes. A detailed analysis of the injection locking in van der Pol oscillators is also presented. The relation between the van der Pol parameters and several circuit implementations in CMOS nanotechnology is given, showing that this theory is very useful in the optimization of oscillator key parameters, such as: frequency, amplitude and phase relationship.
