Linking Theory and Practice of Digital Libraries
This book constitutes the proceedings of the 25th International Conference on Theory and Practice of Digital Libraries, TPDL 2021, held in September 2021. Due to COVID-10 pandemic the conference was held virtually. The 10 full papers, 3 short papers and 13 other papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 53 submissions. TPDL 2021 attempts to facilitate establishing connections and convergences between diverse research communities such as Digital Humanities, Information Sciences and others that could benefit from ecosystems offered by digital libraries and repositories. This edition of TPDL was held under the general theme of “Linking Theory and Practice”. The papers are organized in topical sections as follows: Document and Text Analysis; Data Repositories and Archives; Linked Data and Open Data; User Interfaces and Experience.
How to be FAIR with Your Data
This handbook was written and edited by a group of about 40 collaborators in a series of six book sprints that took place between 1 and 10 June 2021. It aims to support higher education institutions with the practical implementation of content relating to the FAIR principles in their curricula, while also aiding teaching by providing practical material, such as competence profiles, learning outcomes, lesson plans, and supporting information. It incorporates community feedback received during the public consultation which ran from 27 July to 12 September 2021.

The field of electronic publishing has grown exponentially in the last two decades, but we are still in the middle of this digital transformation. With technologies coming and going for all kinds of reasons, the distribution of economic, technological and discursive power continues to be negotiated. This book presents the proceedings of the 20th Conference on Electronic Publishing (Elpub), held in Göttingen, Germany, in June 2016. This year’s conference explores issues of positioning and power in academic publishing, and it brings together world leading stakeholders such as academics, practitioners, policymakers, students and entrepreneurs from a wide variety of fields to exchange information and discuss the advent of innovations in the areas of electronic publishing, as well as reflect on the development in the field over the last 20 years. Computational Drama Analysis
Dramatic texts come with a natural structure of acts, scenes and speech clearly assigned to characters that lends itself to computational analysis: These explicit structures allow for straightforward formalizations without extensive preparatory work. Work on drama has therefore always been at the forefront of research in computational literary studies, with its pioneers analyzing drama quantitatively long before the digital age. Today, increasingly large digital text corpora are available and computational literary studies aims at a higher-scaled view on literary history, promising to analyze thousands of literary texts simultaneously. After decades of exploring the possibilities offered by computational methods, the field is now undergoing a phase of consolidation that takes stock of achievements and opportunities and critically reflects the computational methods and interpretations derived from data. Building on insights from the fields' tradition and current research approaches, this volume provides an overview of the status quo of computational drama analysis and explores possible routes for the future.
