Buku Ajar Manajemen Breeding dan Penetasan Unggas adalah referensi bagi mahasiswa yang memprogram mata kuliah Manajemen Breeding dan Penetasan Unggas. Mata kuliah tersebut menyusun struktur Kurikulum Program Studi Peternakan Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Brawijaya 2020. Buku Ajar Manajemen Breeding dan Penetasan Unggas terbagi menjadi dua bagian. Bagian pertama mengulas tentang Manajemen Breeding dan bagian kedua mengulas tentang Manajemen Penetasan. Komoditas ternak difokuskan pada manajemen breeding farm dan penetasan ayam ras. Peternakan unggas dikembangkan oleh masyarakat dengan berbagai tujuan. Breeding farm unggas bertujuan untuk mengembangbiakkan unggas agar populasi cukup untuk memenuhi kebutuhan protein bewani masyarakat. Bagian satu pada buku ini dengan rinci memberikan penjelasan tentang manajemen breeding yang meliputi bibit, manajemen perkandangan, manajemen pakan, manajemen pemeliharaan, manajemen pencegahan penyakit, serta monitoring dan evaluasi. Bagian kedua buku ini memberikan penjelasan tentang manajemen penetasan yang menguraikan tentang biosecurity, manajemen telur tetas, operasional mesin tetas, manajemen penetasan, monitoring, dan evaluasi penetasan.
Buku ini disusun mengingat masih sedikitnya acuan tentang teknik pemilihan pakan yang berkualitas secara cepat dan tepat, maka perlu untuk membuat buku referensi tentang teknik pemilihan pakan berkualitas dan formulasi pakan unggas untuk membantu pembaca dalam aplikasinya di lapangan. Buku ini bermanfaat untuk masyarakat umum: mahasiswa, dosen, peternak rakyat, analis laboratorium pakan, dan pelaku industri pakan ternak.
The optimization of pharmacokinetic properties has become the bottleneck and a major challenge in drug research. There was, hence, an urgent need for a book covering this field in an authoritative, comprehensive, factual, and conceptual manner. In this work of unique breadth and depth, international authorities and practicing experts from academia and industry present the most modern biological, physicochemical, and computational strategies to achieve optimal pharmacokinetic properties in research series. To present a coherent and meaningful survey of scientific research endeavour in an area that has expanded as fast as physiology and biochemistry of reproduction in the male is no mean task these days. No less prodigious than the growth of knowledge of male reproductive function has been the rate at which the outpouring of publications on this subject has continued since the appearance of 'The Biochemistry of Semen and of the Male Reproductive Tract' in 1964. Since cyclopaedic treatment of this vast literature did not appeal to us, we have made no attempt either to rehash the material contained in that book or to enlarge the bibliography beyond the nearly 3500 references included in the present treatise. At the same time, whilst writing, we felt strongly that to advance, it is necessary to understand the past, and for this reason we have not hesitated to refer (especially in the introductory chapter) to a number of those fundamental early discoveries in which today's knowledge is deeply and firmly rooted.
The aim of this Special Issue is to publish high quality papers concerning poultry nutrition and the interrelations between nutrition, metabolism, microbiota and the health of poultry. Therefore, I invite submissions of recent findings, as original research or reviews, on poultry nutrition, including, but not limited to, the following areas: the effect of feeding on poultry meat end egg quality; nutrient requirements of poultry; the use of functional feed additives to improve gut health and immune status; microbiota; nutraceuticals; soybean meal replacers as alternative sources of protein for poultry; the effects of feeding poultry on environmental impacts; the use of feed/food by-products in poultry diet; and feed technology.
The lock-and-key principle formulated by Emil Fischer as early as the end of the 19th century has still not lost any of its significance for the life sciences. The basic aspects of ligand-protein interaction may be summarized under the term 'molecular recognition' and concern the specificity as well as stability of ligand binding. Volumes 2 and 3 of the 3D QSAR in Drug Design series aim to review the progress being made in CoMFA and other 3D QSAR approaches since the publication of the highly successful first volume about four years ago.
