Jordi Pàmias (Guissona. 1938) és un dels grans poetes de la seva generació, amb una obra extensa i sòlida. Els poemes del llibre neixen de dos viatges {un a Turquia i l'altre a Praga) i defugen els experiments formals i aposten per un art molt sostingut, harmònic, clàssic. Com diu Xavie Macià en el pròleg: «això és així. en bona part. perquè aquí la poesia no neix de la necessitat d'indagar, de descriure, de comprendre o de revelar, sinó essencialment de "celebrar"».

Jordi Pàmias i Grau va néixer a Guisona (la Segarra), l’any 1938. Estudià Filologia Romànica a la Universitat de Barcelona i exercí com a professer, durant trenta anys, a l’Institur Màrius Torres de Lleida. És casat i té tres fills.

A growing interest in myth over the last decades has brought to the fore the main mythographical manual that has came down to us from Antiquity: Apollodorus’ Bibliotheca. A number of recent editions shows this trend, like the commented translations of Carrière & Massonie (1991) and Scarpi & Ciani (1996), the translations of Guidorizzi (1995), Brodersen (2004), Dräger (2005) and Smith & Trzaskoma (2007) or the critical text by Papathomopoulos (2010). The publication of the first two volumes (2010 and 2012) of Cuartero’s massive critical and commented bilingual edition for the Fundació Bernat Metge series seemed the occasion to address this text from innovative scholarly perspectives.
