Twenty-year Trends in Prostate Cancer Stage and Grade Migration in a Large Contemporary German Radical Prostatectomy Cohort

Background: A trend towards inverse stage migration in prostate cancer (PCa) was reported. However, previous analyses did not take into account potential differences in sampling strategies (number of biopsy cores), which might have confounded these reports. Material and Methods: Within our single-institutional database we identified PCa patients treated with radical prostatectomy (RP) between 2000 and 2020 (n)=)21,646). We calculated the estimated annual percentage change (EAPC) for D'Amico risk groups, biopsy Gleason Grade Group (GGG), PSA and cT stage as well as postoperative RP GGG and pT stage relying on log linear regression methodology. Subsequently, we repeated the analyses after adjustment for number of cores obtained at biopsy. Results: Absolute rates of D'Amico low risk decreased (-30.1%), while intermediate and high risk increased (+21.2% and +9.0%, respectively). Rates of GGG I decreased (-50.0%), while GGG II-V increased, with the largest increase in GGG II (+22.5%). This trend, albeit less pronounced, was also recorded after adjusted EAPC analyses (p)

English summary: The assumption of obligations is one of the most difficult topics in the general part of the law of obligations. This is due in particular to the fact that there are three parties involved in the assumption of an obligation. In this context there are two particular questions: Can the obligation be assumed and at the same time preserve its identity in accordance with the German law of succession, or does the obligation have to be created anew? What is the role of each of the three parties involved in the transaction? This practical aspect of the assumption has to be coordinated with the various assessments, the most important being the assessment of the objections to be enfor...

Seminar paper from the year 2015 in the subject Economics - Foreign Trade Theory, Trade Policy, grade: 2,0, University of Hohenheim (Institute of Economics), language: English, abstract: The gravity equation is a common and often used empirical technique to analyse bilat-eral trade. The relationship between the theoretical background of multinational firms and findings from the empirical research with the gravity equation, however, had not been proven to be strong. This results from the fact that gravity equations which try to explain foreign affiliate sales are ad hoc and therefore the coefficients estimated by them are hard to interpret. That is why Kleinert and Toubal (2010), from now on ...

Tropospheric Chemistry

The formation, transport and impact of photo-oxidants, e.g., ozone, is a major environmental problem in densely populated areas with corresponding high emissions of ozone precursor substances such as NOx and volatile organic carbon compounds (VOC). Although major progress has been achieved within the last decade, there are still significant uncertainties in our understanding of the chemical behavior of the polluted atmosphere, in particular the interaction between cities and surrounding areas as well as the contribution of pollution to the global changes, e.g., the oxidation capacity of the troposphere. This book focuses on specific issues related to the chemistry of polluted atmospheres. The main issues cover areas such as modelling, emission inventories, chemical transformation as well as transport of pollutants on an urban/regional scale. The overall topic of the book is addressed in an interdisciplinary approach. The book is of specific interest for advanced researchers in tropospheric chemistry, from the PhD or post-doctoral levels and beyond.

Robot-Assisted Radical Prostatectomy

This book comprehensively covers the techniques available for robot- assisted prostatectomy. Chapters feature detailed descriptions of how to successfully perform a variety of relevant techniques including the reconstruction of continence mechanisms and the use of the transperitoneal RALP anterior approach. Potential complications, preoperative and postoperative management strategies are also discussed, enabling the reader to develop a thorough understanding of how to apply a range of relevant methodologies into their day-to-day clinical practice and avoid commonly encountered pitfalls. Robot-Assisted Radical Prostatectomy: Advanced Surgical Techniques provides a practically applicable resource for all practicing and trainee urologists seeking a detailed overview of the latest advances in robot-assisted surgical procedures and current management strategies applicable to prostatectomy.
