Il volume costituisce la raccolta selezionata degli scritti di alcuni dei partecipanti all’edizione speciale del Corso di Alta formazione in Giustizia costituzionale e tutela giurisdizionale “Alessandro Pizzorusso” svoltosi presso l’Università di Pisa, per la prima volta telematicamente, dal 11 al 22 gennaio 2021. La ratio dei numerosi lavori scientifici selezionati e qui presentati si fonda sulla volontà, per un verso, di valorizzare le ricerche scientifiche portate avanti dai diversi Autori nei loro Paesi di provenienza e, per altro verso, di rafforzare la necessità di un continuo confronto tra realtà ordinamentali anche molto eterogenee tra loro. History of Political Thought in Germany 1789-1815
First Published in 1965. This study deals with the history of political thought in Germany from 1789 to 1815. It is the story of a nation awaking from a long sleep, commencing to think for itself, to modernize its institutions, to formulate its ideas of the pattern of society and the duties of the State. Modern German literature begins with Klopstock and Lessing. German political thinking comes even later, for it is the child of the French Revolution.
Tropical Deforestation
Addressing decades of rain forest destruction, concerned scientists, often in concert with various environmental movements, have amassed an impressive amount of information on deforestation in areas throughout the world. In Tropical Forests, Rudel draws upon hundreds of these studies to develop a broader perspective on the problem of deforestation. Through a meta-analysis, Rudel identifies the forces that have driven forest cover change since 1980 and spells out their implications for efforts to conserve biodiversity and expedite sustainable development in the tropics. Rudel builds on local studies to offer clear explanations of what has happened in each of the world's tropical forest regions. He assesses global trends while also offering vivid descriptions of the effects of deforestation in specific areas.
