Viet Nam: a primary health care case study in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic

This case study examines country-level primary health care (PHC) systems in Viet Nam. The case study is part of a collection of case studies providing critical insights into key PHC strengths, challenges and lessons learned using the Astana PHC framework, which considers integrated health services, multisectoral policy and action, and people and communities. Led by in-country research teams, the case studies update and extend the Primary Health Care Systems (PRIMASYS) case studies commissioned by the Alliance in 2015.

This book provides a technical reference for interdisciplinary studies which utilize machine learning and IoT as tools in their fields such as constructional management, smart agriculture, Earth sciences and geo-spatial analysis, intelligent business, and digital transformation in education.

Negotiating Structural Vulnerability in Cancer Control

Negotiating Structural Vulnerability in Cancer Control

What can case studies about the lived experiences of cancer contribute to an interest in the concept of structural vulnerability? And can a consideration of structural vulnerability enhance applied anthropological work in cancer prevention and control? To answer these questions the contributors in this volume explore what it means to be structurally vulnerable; how structural vulnerabilities intersect with cancer risk, diagnosis, care seeking, caregiving, clinical-trial participation, and survivorship; and how differing local, national, and global political contexts and histories inform vulnerability. These case studies illustrate how quotidian experiences of structural vulnerability influence and are altered by a cancer diagnosis at various points in the continuum of care. In examining cancer as a set of diseases and biosocial phenomena, the contributors extend structural vulnerability beyond its original conceptualization to encompass spatiality, temporality, and biosocial shifts in both individual and institutional arrangements.

Future Data and Security Engineering

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 7th International Conference on Future Data and Security Engineering, FDSE 2020, which was supposed to be held in Quy Nhon, Vietnam, in November 2020, but the conference was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 24 full papers (of 53 accepted full papers) presented together with 2 invited keynotes were carefully reviewed and selected from 161 submissions. The other 29 accepted full and 8 short papers are included in CCIS 1306. The selected papers are organized into the following topical headings: security issues in big data; big data analytics and distributed systems; advances in big data query processing and optimization; blockchain and applications; industry 4.0 and smart city: data analytics and security; advanced studies in machine learning for security; and emerging data management systems and applications.

MIGs Over North Vietnam

"Until now, the day-to-day operations of the Vietnam People's Air Force have remained relatively unknown. In MiGs over North Vietnam, Roger Boniface relies largely on interviews with the participants to describe fighter combat above Vietnam from 1965 to 1975, giving voice to North Vietnamese pilots whose stories have never been told, from deadly dogfights between MiGs and American F-4s to persistent efforts to shoot down B-52 bombers. This is the air war in Vietnam as seen by the other side."--Back cover.

Education in Vietnam

Offering insights into the current and projected future state of the education system in Vietnam, this edited volume is an authoritative sourcebook for scholars, policy analysts, academic staff, and students. Vietnam is well on its way to joining the dress circle of high-achieving education nations in Asia. International surveys of the academic aptitude and ability of the nation’s youth consistently place it well above relevant regional and global averages. This accomplishment is remarkable for a country with a gross domestic product per capita of only US$2,785 in 2020. The dynamics of Vietnam’s national education system are comprehensively documented in the book. Each of the country’s...
