Recently, alterations in the gut microbiome have been associated with a more complicated and severe disease course in COVID-19 patients, most likely due to immunological mechanisms. Nesta edição do Inquisitiones ex natura, iremos investigar temas relacionados à mente humana e animal e entender princípios fundamentais nesses sistemas para tanto entendermos aspectos comportamentais deles, como aprender sobre coisas como neuromarketing, que estuda as áreas do cérebro atreladas a atividade de comprar, vender, e de fisgar a atenção de consumidores. Sobre coisas como amnésia, agentes virtuais e como modelar teoricamente a simulação desses agentes em ambientes de MMOs, MMORPGs e outros gêneros de jogos. O nosso foco de fato nessa edição é neurociência e embora talvez fujamos ao longo do livro desse tema, queremos enfatizar a importância de aplicar essa área em diversos aspectos, desde a medicina, biologia computacional, neurociência computacional, até coisas diferentes como jogos online e offline. O livro Biofilme Oral e as interações na odontologia surge da necessidade de compilar conhecimento produzido na disciplina das Ciências Biológicas Articuladas na área de Clínica Odontológica no curso de pós-graduação da Faculdade de Odontologia da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais. Nos últimos anos a disciplina visava aprofundar nos conceitos da produção e fisiopatologia dos biofilmes orais e os efeitos nos tecidos orais, sendo objeto de outras publicações. Atualmente a disciplina visa analisar os biofilmes em consonância com a compreensão de uma odontologia moderna como uma ciência ampla e integrada com o sistema estomatognático e suas implicações com corpo humano e a saúde em geral. Ainda foram levantadas reflexões de como as ciências básicas, avanços tecnológicos e inovação que podem contribuir para ajudar no bem-estar e recomo para a sociedade.

A Legacy of Caring
Begun in 1891, the Children’s Aid Society of Toronto is the largest child welfare agency in North America. It has played a leading roll as an advocate of children’s welfare; it has been instrumental in influencing child welfare practice not only in Ontario but all of Canada and elsewhere. With an emphasis on the post-World War II period, A Legacy of Caring examines the political, social, and economic factors that led to changes within the society itself as well as developments in legislation and social policy. The society has been a training ground for many highly committed professionals who have gone on to be leaders in other governmental and nongovernmental agencies in Canada and abroad.
