Jeugdzorg met een plus
Deze publicatie gaat over tien jaar JeugdzorgPlus: 2008-2017. Over jongeren met zeer complexe gedragsproblemen die zich aan hulp onttrekken of daaraan onttrokken worden. En over de manier waarop zij het beste geholpen kunnen worden. De jongeren om wie het gaat, zijn vaak geen ‘lieverdjes’; ze worstelen met veel negatieve invloeden uit hun omgeving. Daarom kunnen vrijheidsbeperkende maatregelen nodig zijn als onderdeel van de behandeling, maar alleen als er gevaar is en er geen alternatieven zijn. JeugdzorgPlus staat niet op zichzelf. Effectieve zorg gaat namelijk niet alleen over residentiële behandeling, maar ook over de periode daarvoor en daarna. Besluiten over deze jongeren en over JeugdzorgPlus mogen niet lichtzinnig worden genomen. Hulp aan hen is topsport. Kennis over deze jongeren is daarom belangrijk voor iedereen die met hen te maken heeft: van jeugd-/wijkteams, jeugdbeschermers en pedagogisch medewerkers tot studenten, gemeentelijk beslissers en kinderrechters. Vanuit persoonlijke betrokkenheid en ervaring met deze jongeren is de oproep van de auteurs: deel kennis met elkaar en maak er samen meer van.
Responsabilidade civil e direito de família
A obra coletiva "Diálogos entre Responsabilidade civil e direito de família: O Direito de danos na parentalidade e conjugalidade", consiste em mais um empreendimento do Instituto Brasileiro de Estudos de Responsabilidade Civil (IBERC), aqui estruturado no sentido de sistematizar as ainda imprecisas fronteiras entre as duas disciplinas no direito brasileiro. Para tanto, os coordenadores Nelson Rosenvald, Ana Carolina Brochado Teixeira e Renata Vilela Multedo optaram por fracionar o conteúdo de 36 artigos em três eixos temáticos. O primeiro eixo: "responsabilidade civil na parentalidade" ilustra os potenciais ilícitos e danos decorrentes de relações filiais; o segundo eixo explora a "responsabilidade civil na conjugalidade", evidenciando hipóteses diversas que dão ensejo à obrigação de indenizar tendo como ponto de partida o cenário das relações amorosas. Finalmente, o último eixo "a reconstrução da responsabilidade civil nas famílias contemporâneas" avança sobre os desafios da conjugação entre o direito de danos e a complexidade das múltiplas formações familiares.

Delinquent Networks
This book presents a study of co-offering relations among youths under twenty-one suspected of criminal offences in Stockholm during 1991–5. In total, the study includes just over 22,000 individuals suspected of around 29,000 offences. Jerzy Sarnecki employs the methods of network analysis which makes it possible to study the ties, social bonds, interactions, differential associations and connections that are central to many of the sociologically oriented theories on the aetiology of crime. Up to now, network analysis has been used only rarely in the criminological context. The book discusses many aspects of Stockholm's delinquent networks such as the existence of delinquent gangs and a criminal underworld, the durability of delinquent relations, and the choice of co-offenders with respect to sex, age, residential location, ethnic background and earlier delinquent experience. It also considers the effects of societal intervention on criminal networks. This unique study will appeal to a wide audience.
Developmental Aspects of Health Compliance Behavior
While in the late 1970s and early 1980s health compliance research on adults represented a vigorous field of study, a marked decline of interest on the topic set in during the last part of the 1980s. By contrast, research on health compliance involving pediatric populations was less popular during the same period; however, interest in this topic -- as evidenced by the contributions to this volume -- is on the increase. Four main themes -- relating to theory, measurement, prevention, and intervention -- emerge and are interwoven among the chapters. These themes help to bind and unify the volume into a conceptual whole because although the sections are divided along thematic lines, contributors often include elements of some or all of the themes in their chapters. This state of affairs reflects the interdependence of these thematic issues and suggests how important they are for the state of the art.
