Si bien esta publicación explora los conocimientos y manifestaciones asociados a la cotidianidad de la vida campesina, centra su mirada en la fortaleza organizativa de quienes habitan el páramo. El campesinado de Sumapaz reconoce, mediante sus propios relatos, la fuerza de las huellas que han dejado la violencia y la estigmatización ideológica a causa del conflicto por la tenencia de la tierra en el país a lo largo del siglo XX e inicios del XXI. También reconoce que esta historia, que atraviesa sus formas de relacionarse, habitar y manifestarse, es quizás el núcleo que ha dado impulso a unas formas y procesos organizativos particulares. Y en este eje es donde se encuentra el patrimonio que vive y nutre la vida de campesinas y campesinos del Sumapaz.
Book of Abstracts. Workshop on Simulation and Optimization for Sustainable Engineering
The Workshop on Simulation and Optimization for Sustainable Engineering is held in Santander (September 28th-29th) on the occasion of the visit of Prof. Ignacio Grossmann to the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering of the Universidad de Cantabria in the framework of the Fulbright U.S. Specialist Program. This workshop is organized in collaboration with AQUIQÁN, the Association of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Cantabria, with the aims of serving both as a forum of discussion of the recent advances in the topic and a meeting point of the closest collaborators of Prof. Grossmann in Spain over the last years. Overall, 30 researchers will take part in this event coming from several universities (Alicante, Cantabria, Rovira i Virgili, Salamanca, Sevilla, and Valladolid) and the IMDEA Materials Institute. The program includes a plenary lecture imparted by Prof. Grossmann, one keynote presentation representative of each institution and around 15 oral presentations from young researchers.

El fracaso del desarrollo y la opción por el buen vivir
La obra tiene como objetivo mostrar las inconsistencias y debilidades teóricas y prácticas que presenta el paradigma del desarrollo, cuyas consecuencias han sido contrarias al bienestar humano que prometió y, sobre todo, negativas contra la naturaleza. Ante ello, se señalan diferentes alternativas de vida al desarrollo que se utilizan y promueven en distintas partes del mundo, básicamente retornando las enseñanzas ancestrales y reacondicionándolas para las circunstancias actuales. Presentamos un modelo que busca impulsar la noción del buen vivir en el sur de Jalisco, México, a través de la vinculación de las comunidades, con académicos y estudiantes universitarios, vía el fomento de la agroecología, las economías alternativas (como la solidaria), así como el diálogo transdisciplinar de saberes.
